Common Sense is not Common anymore.

We all know that Kevin Durant’s injury that he sustained in game 6 of the NBA finals, could very well shift the power of the entire organization, or is common sense just not common anymore. He’s just one man and there are many wonderful players in the NBA. Now, like the name of this blog, Does Durant stay with Golden State or take a new deal with a new team and city. Well common sense says just to stay put.Your already with a winning organization who obviously wants you to stay. You have three other All-stars on the team and your making a killing as far as a salary. You just tore you Achilles tendon for this team and showed true grit during the finals. Why not stay? Here’s the part where common sense goes out the window. You have a few teams like the Knicks or Nets that would still give Durant a max deal after sustaining such a massive injury. The time line for a returning could be a year or more. Would you pay millions of dollars for a player would can not help your team. Well, that’s what common sense says.

Now lets take a dip on the other side of the pond with Kwahi Leonard .You just won a NBA title and proved that one man can over come the odds and beat the juggernaut that was Golden state. Now that you are a champion, why would you want to leave. Leonard can get a super max deal worth over 200 million. The city of Toronto loves you, hell Drake loves you.Your treated like a god, yet the allure of switching teams and cities, always catches players attention.

Let’s take one more player. Unlike Durant and Leonard. Kemba Walker has been with Charlotte his whole career and has never won an NBA title. He’s also looking at a max deal that could net more money than he’s ever seen. The Lakers are looking to bring his talents to west, and possibly team up with Lebron James and the newly traded Anthony Davis but LA cant not offer Walker a max deal. Its not even close to what the Hornets could pay him, but his chances could increase if he plays there to get a rings. Hopefully common sense will prevail and Walker finds another landing spot.
